TransSim (alias RepDis)

Tools for creating stimuli and analyzing data of psychological experiments about transformational similarity

Purpose and goal:
This project implements
Scientific background:
Similarity is a major component in human cognition. A great deal of research from psychology, cognitive science, and artificial intelligence is focussed on explaining phenomena encountered in similarity rating. The theoretical foundations of this tool are described in Ulrike Hahn et al.'s articles about transformational similarity, e.g.
Hahn, Ulrike, Chater, Nick, and Richardson, L.B.C. (2003). Similarity as transformation. Cognition, 87,1-32.

For information about implementation details, please contact Timo Steffens. This project is open-source, so that anyone can use and extend the tools, e.g. add additional domains, different analysis method, etc. The source-code is hosted on SourceForge.

Download:
To run the tool locally on your computer, download the java-classes of the TransSim (RepDis) tool. Make sure to read the README-file for instructions how to run the tool. Alternatively check the "Download via SourceForge" section (may be outdated).
